jobs that will help me to move to NZ

Post new topic

Hey guys,

I am a software developer and am living in Dubai for now but I want to move to NZ.
most of the companies I've sent my CV to respond with "you need to be in NZ already and in a position to work before we can consider you for this role"

so what kind of jobs will help me to move to NZ so after that I can search for a job that suits my qualifications.

any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

if you are a software developer then it'll be pretty easy for you to move here. Any job in IT is highly required here.

To all who are seeking work in NZ.

Best you look on the NZ Govt website as to whether you qualify for a visa and if you do, how you go about getting one.

There is no easy way to get work in NZ. Many people are leaving NZ to work in Australia as there is very little work which pays a decent wage.

^^^ Quoted for truth.

To New Zealand's credit, the government is relatively open about the immigration process and what they are looking for. Unfortunately, regulating immigration is not easy, and no one - certainly not the government analysts - have crystal balls. The worldwide economy is a mess, and it is not easy for a small country to encourage growth and expansion while coping with the inevitable social problems, and while hedging its bets if all hell breaks loose.

There are complaints in the immigrant community that the skilled shortage list does not reflect reality. So, you might qualify as a skilled migrant, and then find it (very) difficult to find a job here in New Zealand. Or, you might not meet the criteria for what the government projects there will be shortages in, but, in fact, there may be a lot of job openings for your skill set.

In the end, you have to play by the rules and have a fallback plan.

Take the time to read the NZIS website and look at the various options. If you do not understand what is written there or do not feel confident enough with English, you probably should get some qualified advice from a licenced counselor or attorney.

Hi!  I would like to ask if you were successful in finding a job in New Zealand as an IT professional?  I have a Syrian friend who is also looking for opportunities in New Zealand, and is currently looking for a company that can sponsor his work visa.

If you are a good programmer / IT specialist then NZ has jobs for you. Some actually pay well too.

But the scale of the companies here is tiny, 10 people companies are considered medium size! So think about the exposure professionally as well.

Most of all try to visit NZ and then decide if you would like to live here. I know Dubai really well and NZ is (white) Somalia compared to it. So be prepared mentally for the shock.

If you have the chance then go to Australia instead. If a foreign citizenship is your primary motivator then well you have to suck it up for 5 years and then run away.
