Is that SIXTY or SIX HUNDRED dollars a month.  Some Vietnamese have trouble getting the zero's correct.

dmarkelov

yeah, I was wondering about that as well...

namphuong

Yes, she have complete CV and recommendations. She have a good CV. You can meet her to interview.

dmarkelov

So, did you mean $60 or $600?

namphuong

Six Hundred USD per month.

Her salary is 600 USD/ month with take care of baby from new born to 3 years old, and 500 USD/month to take care of baby > 3 years old. Because she take care your baby at your home.

When you consider that the minimum wage is USD$50/month; a manager of an 80-unt condo I know is picking up USD$250/month. At USD$600 a legal 48 hour week amounts to USD$12.50/hour which is way, way too high.

We pay our live in maid 2.5mil VND ($125.00) a month, plus room and board. $600.00 a month for a baby sitter??? Good luck on her finding a job.

Some earn more than 600 dollars if it is per hour job, Im referring to foreigner babysitter knowledgaeable in child care with qualified eduacations and experiences,( reading books and bed times stories, some homework tutorials, and daily basic needs like feeding nutritional foods, potty training, knowledgeable in First aid/CPR/A/R and water rescue, assisting parents to teach right manners and conduct and can speak English. I think depends really on what qualifications for a candiate you want to apply in this position.(In case you will be hiring Babysitter) If ou cheap this very important thing in your kids life then all its up to you.  (well the mean issue here is because we live in a thirr wrld country but qualified to be a  memebr of GDC, we will cheap the locals, if they meet the qualifications why not spend that amount, wont hurt your pocket, isnt it?

You STILL run onto the Labour Code which stipulates a maximum of 6 working days per week with a maximum of 48 hours. This provision will regulate the maximum she can earn at reasonable rates.

No baby sitter is worth more in qualifications or salary than a nurse and they certainly don't earn that much. Hell, not even doctors make that rate of salary! Not even in the dubious FV Hospital.

OP, I suggest you join PhuMyHungNeighnours Google Group where they trade babysitter information freely and help you avoid getting sucked in.

Remember, any Labour Code infractions hit you, the employer, and not the employee. Also, at these high rates of pay you will have to pain social benefits.

You could also try posting an advert in the area. If you use a service where they have a number of children, make sure yours is fully inoculated against all the nasty things kids collect and pass on to other family members.
