Security concern of Pakistanis living in Bahrain

I am planning to move to Manama in a little over a month's time. I have searched over the tensed law & order situation in Manama. I have read blogs and watched eye-bulging pictures & videos about the violence that has been going on since Feb 14, 2011.

Along with that I have read that Pakistanis are living a really scared life. There have been incidents noted when Pakistanis have been attacked and killed by the anti-government protestors. All those being attacked news pertained from 2011 but it is yet disturbing.

I have a friend who has flown back saying it is NOT a safe place for Pakistanis to live on.

But I am here and do not know a thing as to what exactly is going on with the Pakistanis.

Can anyone help me out by letting me know the exact state of the scenario? I am concerned and do not know what to do.

Aurélie

Hello,

I have been living in Bahrain for over a month now and I have to say did not feel a slightest issue with the security. It is of course important in terms of where you live, who do you hang out with and which places you go, but as long as you're careful (like you are in ANY country - not just in Bahrain), you should be OK.

I did not hear anything specifically against Pakistanis here in Bahrain, but I might be wrong on this and maybe others will shed further light into this issue.

You said you are going to move to Manama. Do you know where in Manama you are going to live? Have you sorted your accommodation out? If you let us know, maybe the people here will share their thoughts about the place.

But, overall, I recommend Bahrain to anyone. It's a nice place, friendly people and good places to go!
