The EC has moved to 5 Tran Hung Dao street for 6 months. it's really ideal place for both Vietnamese and foreigners to meet and make friends, learning languages from each others. The EC always welcome to anyone who is interested in languages and cutures

Just be careful that you are not providing free english lessons for someone who has an english school and is charging the students.  Mr. Khoa is using it to bring his students to and getting free lessons from foreigners.  Now it is mostly high school students who are paying Mr. Khoa.

English Corners in China are usually hunting grounds for security police and Foreigners trolling for students.

How do you spot these Khoa students?

Maybe you should make an announcement no charges are due for attending these 'Corners'.

What building is at 5 TDH? Is it the park opposite Calmette? If outside where is your rain alternative?

Almost all of the high school age kids are his students. Most of the others are Uni students or working people.  Unfortunately his students dominate the foreign volunteers.  Most of the foreigners do not know those are Mr. Khua's students.  I don't know if these young students know that it is free.
5 TDH is the Nguyen Long COffee Shop.

Hi everyone,

I am Khoa. I was glad to know Mr. Gary by chance. Mr. Gary and I have established our English corner based on my English discussion group of about ten members. Our English corner has operated over the last time. This English corner is a nice venue for foreigners, Vietnamese students and English lovers to socialize with, and communicate with one another, and exchange cultures with one another. When you foreigners go to our English corner, you can communicate with Vietnamese students from different cities in Vietnam and know their different regional cultures, and help them speak English more fluently. You foreigners are always welcomed as guest speakers there.

We come from different cultures, so we should be in harmony with one another so that we can have a lot of fun and share something with one another joyfully and happily.

On behalf of Vietnamese students and English lovers, I appreciate Mr. Gary's help so much because he has joined our English corner for such a long time, has hepled Vietnamese students make progress in speaking English, and has introduced some of his foreign friends to our English corner. Also, I would truly like to say thanks to all foreigners who have come and will go to our English corner.

To be honest, I want to explain to all of you that:

1) We Vietnamese students and English lovers are open and friendly and we only want to have interesting two-way conversations. People all over the world are smart enough not to be dominated by the other people.

2) I invited my friend to go to our English corner to play the violin, not to sell insurance policies. There must have been some misunderstanding there at our English corner.

3) I am an English teacher. Vietnamese students who go to our English corner are my old students. They have not studied English with me since Mr. Gary and I established this English corner.

Thank you all for reading my message.

Best regards,

Khoa

As of 14 July 2013 this group is meeting on Sundays at Luckily Café at 5A Tran Hung Dao St. When in Nha Trang, I have been attending for over two years. It makes for an excellent social outing and you can usually continue on for a vegetarian meal afterwards. The venue can change so it does not hurt to check with Mr Khoa on 01215284399. Anyone with an interest in learning or helping others learn English is welcome.
