Daughter is lonely!

Post new topic

happywelshgirl

Hi all,

We have been living in Sharbatly compound for 2 months and my daughter is incredibly lonely. She had 1 little friend but she has gone away for 3 months. She is not the most outgoing of girls and she is really struggling. We are currently waiting to hear about a place in an international school. There seems to be a lot of younger kids hang out at the bowling but not any her age (11). Help!

your daughter is still in the process of adapting and adjusting the sorroundings since its only 2 months when you transfered in that compound, but to ease the loneliness of your kid you must talk and show them your thoughts about the place. when at home bring her everytime you go out esp. in the crowded place most esp. where the same age as your daugther is visible. visiting neighbors house with kids will help her closer and you too to the parent.

Hi there
We moved here about 5 weeks ago. Also battling to find a school for my son, and I am home schooling him at the moment. Was worried that he was going to be lonely here but the compound we are in is fantastic. We are in Arabian Homes...Sierra compound. He has made so many friends here.
Really battling with the schools here, but going to start hounding them again soon.
Hope your daughter makes some friends real soon

If you have free time or on weekends I think there is good place where your daughter can find many of children with the same age ex. Mega mall or Arab complex mall etc there are many places and in Andalos mall specially you can visit the science park where she can enjoy to much with the dinosaurs too I hope this will help you.

Good luck with both the compounds and schools
We are at the Arabian Homes Sierra compound and it is fantastic

My son has so many friends..and the kids just love compound life.
School is another thong all together. We have been trying since March last year to get my son in a school.
American school is not even taking applications, they are full.
My son is going to the British school tomorrow for a assessment. We are home schooling at the moment.

I am so fed up with these schools I want to scream.
It is as if they do not want to take him....because we are homeschooling.....BUT we are homeschooling, becasue we have no other option.
Can not just let him sit at home and wait for one day.

stevem....would suggets you try all the schools asap.
Schooling here is truly a problem.

Best of luck with the move
