Too much free time...

Sorry that I didn't immediately respond to your message.

I also had too much free time, which was why I work now as a teaching assistant in a local school English Language school. It keeps me busy and I enjoy it.

Have you thought of teaching, as you love children. As you will know the kids here are very nice. They are much more polite and respectful than kids generally are in England. And they are really keen to learn.

You told me that you are retired, and are married to a Sri Lankan. That gives you a very good point of perspective in Negombo and in Sri Lanka. Did you work in UK before your retired?

How did you find the transition to living in Sri Lanka?  Even though I have had a house here for 15 years, and had always planned to come to live here, I was very surprised to go through a period of intense homesickness. I had never been homesick before, even when I was a year in Saudi Arabia.
But with the help of my friends, and the work in the school, I got over it, and now I'm fine.

I enjoy living in Negombo. It's a nice town. It's big enough to be able to find just about anything that you need, but it's not too big, liked Colombo. And there's the beach. We go regularly to a cute little beach bar which is very friendly and relaxed. I like the swimming, and the beer afterwards.

If you would like to tell me, I would be interested to hear about you and your husband and your life in Negombo. Do feel free to drop me a line.

I also had too much free time, so I got a job as a teaching assistant in a local English language school.

What do you do? Or are you a lady of leisure? Do you know the Dolce Vita? Maybe we could meet for a coffee if you would like to.

I believe you will find some humour here after a while of posting actively.  Nobody can keep you back from having fun.

As for too much free time, I have 0 time because I do many things and the secret to success I discovered many years ago was to do a bit of one thousands things at the same time.
I do only and only things which I like.  In my profession NOBODY dictates to me simply because nobody can, and I do not have to take nonsense from anybody to make a living.

Time can be you foe or your friend.

Sis, I will go with the word of a fellow member of EB. If ChristopherHH says that gigi is active behind the scenes, then that is what I go by. She probably feels more comfortable corresponding in private, and this is something we should respect.
