Which local manners have you adopted?

One of the manners that I like very much is:
when you get a plate of food you can not give it back empty.
You have to fill it with sweets, cookies of nuts or what ever you have.

Ooh. Experienced this many times. My mom always give something to our neighbor. They won't return the plate unless it has something on it. Sometimes plates and bowls would pile up >.<
