I'm also in Riga.

there isn't much in terms of Expat events on the calendar right now, but maybe we should try to start some thing up.  I have some ideas:

1. Bi-Weekly: "down at the pub" -> go for a drink event (lot's of Brit's here.)
2. Philosophy group - it sounds tacky but it worked really well in Casablanca.  Basically you pick an idea/concept one event, then discuss it the next, and get different cultural perspectives on it.
3. Book club : *yawn* as well. but once I had a fascinating discussion with a Muslim woman (in shawl) about 1984.  She was so excited by it.
4. Documentary : I have a thing for documentaries, and want to have a night where I show documentaries on specific topics.  Maybe just significant films.

Do you have any ideas, or the initiative to organize a group?
