Secutity status Riyad

Ladies, regardless of what Bruckner just said, it is NOT recommended that women speak to drivers.  They may (and sometimes do) misconstrue this as being interested in them.  Seriously.  I tend to be a friendly and talkative person, but with the cab drivers it has to be strictly business (ie. tell them where you're going and ride in silence!).

Thanks for adding that. I forgot that some messages need disclaimers. I've edited my message.

The best way to find out what's the security status in this country is to talk* with taxi drivers. They will tell you EVERYTHING! Yes, some of them have BO issues, but those who have been living in this country for more than 10 or 15 years can provide precious information.
According to some statistics, KSA is one of the 10 most safest countries in the world (the stats do not include terrorist threats). I have good reasons not to believe the stats, though.

* This message is mostly addressed to men. Women shouldn't engage in conversations with taxi drivers as they may understand that you are trying to flirt with them.

Does anyone really believe these stats? The system is just too arbitrary, particularly in its treatment of female victims. I'm not in the KSA yet, but even I know it's best to keep your mouth shut and avoid all authorities.

Well, my friend.. you need to edit it again lol  since you wrote:  they may understand that you are trying to flirt with them.
