I don't see any point either.
Jealousy is a sin.

Agree with you. Plus, many (most?) expats are here alone. If you've lived here all your life, if you have your family here, I really can't understand how you can be bored *anywhere*.

Apparently somebody is 'grabing ladies' .. but the question is.. who? Hitch? Dave? hmmmmmmmmmmmm... this is a mystery
She is just jealous that nobody is grabbing her.

Are you bored because of the restrictions in KSA? especially for women?? if so, then try to go to bahrain, come here in uae, or to other countries, i mean vacation. I dont have any idea what makes you bored. .. i do believe that a boring person is always bored but not everyone who feels bored are boring, some just feel that way because of the circumstances, situation, laws, regulations and that they cant do anything about it

Thanks for sharing !!
well, we cant be happy all the time, we really have to feel bored and sad, and depressed sometimes just to appreciate life. We will never understand the word fun if there are no miseries in life... people just keep on complaining , endless!! and yet still most of us we want to live, be it a happy life, or not much... we are all struggling just to live...
all i know, is no matter what, whatever situation you are in, we always have choices...
and for you "hitch" - 9- 10 months... hmmmmm ... the longer you wait , the better, its sweeter..lol

I'm waiting with a smile . what else i should do !! being in jeddah is nice if you know how to manage it . i guess its depends on how you know people and who you know ...
Hitch is right about people always complaining.
Seems to me you have a right to complain if you have no food and you're hungry; or you have no home and you're sleeping on the street; or you're out of work and can't find a job; or your father/husband beats you ....
I mean there are LOTS of legitimate reasons to complain.
But being 'bored'? Seems to me that's a complaint of the privileged. Now I admit, we ALL complain, no matter how privileged. But I guess some people get upset about the pettiness of complaining about being bored.
=Alliecat]Hitch is right about people always complaining.
Umm just about that !!
Well i cant argue with you because you always win ...
Nice words . i'm gratitude for your company , see how good am i

Tony.
That's a fact... same thing happened to me last year with the baby...never a dull moment... never a quiet moment alone
anaexpat wrote:Alliecat,
is it safe to jogg in there?
Yes. Traffic isn't so bad. Best to jog now in the early mornings or early evening when it's cooler, but there are some really great trails you can jog on. During the day.... searing sun and lots of people trying to get visas or assistance from the embassies. Can get a little busy on the pavements!

She's too tired with that baby!
Bah... Women and their excuses!
rebel woman is just expressing herself... She's bored (too bad for her), and most of the people who have responded here are just pretending that they are happy all the time, perhaps true , but for me, i just dont buy that.... we will always feel bored once in a while, everyday fb, bbm, is boring, thats why we keep on changing, we dont like routines..
to rebel woman: just think of something that you want to do... if you think that posting topics on Expat.com will make you happy, then go ahead and keep posting... these people who mocked or laughed at you are just so bitter with their lives. and the only thing they can do is to pretend to be extremely happy so that they will not be laughed at..

I didn't notice anybody acting extremely happy. The point we were trying to make is that it's up to *you*, as an individual, to UN-bore yourself. Especially here, in KSA, you can't expect other people to do it for you.
Some people gave suggestions of things they like to do but as for being 'bitter' with their lives? I sure didn't see that.

Isn't it the same as what I told ? In fact, I gave more options (EB, FB & BBM/Whatsapp).
And posting new topics everyday on EB ? Contradictory.
She refused to be bored chiefly because she wasn't boring.

I do every thing you do (well, except for family lol) and right now I'm busy working on my income tax returns for the US (I had filed an extension--lazy me!) and also researching countries that I am thinking about visiting--checking out hotels, restaurants, airfares, etc. I do a lot of research on the computer, personal and job related, and it's always interesting!
Oh, something else I like is cooking foods from home; also, I like to find recipes online of foods I've had when eating out here and I try to make them--for example, babaganush (the secret is the smokey flavor!). I've also made pansit (a Filipino dish).

You can find the recipes online -- it's not difficult BUT (and this is the key) you have to have 'sushi grade' fish. It has to be VERY fresh caught. You can buy powdered wasabi and pickled ginger root at any Asian market.
