thanks a lot!

Long and complicated - agents best first time you do it. Depends if low paid foreign worker or expat. Latter is 5k min salary and lots of rules and paperwork. The procedure is tooong for a forum posting - look at imminwebsite it's on there!

yes i agree, getting work permit is really tough. i applied for two companies, they want to hire me but the problem is the work permit ;( Maybe the employer would opted to choose local applicants instead of doing such a long process for the permit.. so sad..

There are several realities of being a Fillipino in Malaysia. Most are maids or h**kers (less of both since clamp down on maids - there was a link). I knew an American born Fillipino - high paid expat - who lasted 6 months. They treated her so badly calling her a h**ker behind her back she quit in disgust.

Another an Indonesian was always accused of being a cheap s**t after Malaysian husbands! She was a high paid manager. If Asian you are put down especially if Indo or Fillipino.

Then do the Math. You are in a country that is having growing unemployment with grads. Pay levels are low for general grad jobs (1,500-1800 RM entry level 3000 rM after 5-10 years experience in many cases). A foriegner from a country that is looked down upon wants a job where they will have to be paid more (5000 RM pm) and lots of hassles getting an employment pass.

So no surprise hard to get a job! Unless specialised skills (Geologist, doctor, IT or embassy staff etc) I suggest chances are very very low.

But at least it isn't Spain where 42% of 18-29 year olds are unemployed (so many end up working in Starbucks in London). Welcome to the Great Depression 2.0! So just be glad if you have any job back home and do your best. Asia is at least better off economically in many ways than the west where my neice for example can't get any work at all.
