Help! Christmas in Beijing...

hkdweller

Hello to whomever may be reading this, hopefully you can help me out!

My husband and I are taking a trip up to Beijing for Christmas. We'll be arriving Dec 21st, and we'll be there until the 30th.

Can anyone suggest some fun events, or concerts to get us into the Christmas spirit? Some places that might have carolers, and christmas trees? I'm desperate to find some way to feel "christmasy" this year!

Thank you!

Emily

Unfortunately you will not be able to miss Christmas. Despite the fact that China is not a Christian the city will be covered with Christmas decorations. Many of the restaurants and most of the hotels, especially those catering for foreigners, will have activities ranging from festive meals, to daily tree lightings. It is of course an excellent excuse for them to put the price up.

Caroling is not officially allowed since it is religious.

Out of all the options I would suggest that you buy tickets for Beijing Playhouse's production of the Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge. beijingplayhouse.com
