Dear Soomro,
Thats a really great offer of $2000. If your company provides you an accomodation, then you can survive in $200 per month. As a Pakistani , I know the Pakistani living and traditions. and You can survive in $500 with a family with also having a car here in Libya.

Which company are you working in and where is the company located? I mean which city?

Hello Soomro,

Even if your company is not providing u an accomodation, you can rent a place starting from LYD 500/- depending upon size and area...

Hi Soomro,

Libya is nice place to live and work but it is expensive now a days so it depends upon the location/city you are staying.
I agree with Mr. Naiyer and Mr. Baig.

Good luck

Congratulations Suhail, it sure is a good offer if you want to move here by yourself.

Accomodation and decent food should not cost you more than 500-700USD. Its best if you can secure accomodation and transportation by the employer.

I am looking for a place but don't know if I should bring my family first or bring them later - what is the cost for 1 bedroom vs 2 bedroom apt.

Ryan,

Later would be my advise to you, once you have scoped out all the angles and prepare a basic housing arrangement if you dont want to furnish all the way without your family. you can bring your family after a couple of months once you are comfortable and adjusted to some of the lifestyle changes which are specific to the local culture.

cheers,

fahim
