I am a Malaysian myself. Here in K.L there are plenty of charity organisation, but depends the type of work you want to do and if you are expecting and if you are expecting any money.

On the other hand you can teach English for school students at few private colleges and earn some cash of which you can donate to the charity of your choice.

Do you need any special permit to help as a volunteer??

if you go directly to poor suburbs and try to help them directly,, i doubt they would entertain you,, they would probly think what your motives are,,
