Visa to Live

Hi,

I am a writer and am looking to re-locate from Switzerland to Kenya.  I will not be employed as I am self-employed.  I have some (sporadic) income from the father of my child.  Ultimately, it will be cheaper for us to live in Kenya than Switzerland.

My question is how can I get a permit to live if I am not employed? What kind of permit would I need?

Thanks for letting me know!

Armand

Hi and welcome to the forum annagmiller!

Have you tried contacting the nearest embassy?

Hi,

Check out the immigration website: http://www.immigration.go.ke/index.php? … Itemid=127

Class K

Entry permit issued to persons who have an assured income derived from sources outside and undertakes not to accept paid employment of any kind.

REQUIREMENTS

Documentary proof of assured income is required for Class K.

You may need an immigration specialist to advise further as it is not clear how long this permit is valid for. There are more categories which relate to profession and investment.

Good luck.
