My piece of advice is
Try to reserve a guesthouse as close to town as possible for your convenience and safety.
You can compare prices, and most of the guesthouses offer breakfast only. If you want to cook your own lunch check with them if they have a kitchen where you can cook your food if they don't check with another guesthouse.
