Hi John,

Well there ya go! Finally I ran across somebody else who knows how to add photos to their topic postings. Way to go, great photos too I must say.

As a former PADI Openwater Certified Diver, no longer active because of physical problems, I had some 300 hours logged. Sure miss it.

Your topic title "Scuba" caught my attention and that's why I checked it out. Keep up the great work, hope to see some nice underwater photography coming from your end.

Cheers,

Hi wjwoodward,

Thank you for your post. I am very new to this sport. I was bored in Saudi Arabia for nearly an year before I chanced upon Expat.com and scuba. I see a lot of people in this blog complain about there being nothing to do and hence the invitation. I have enjoyed my dives so far and its such a privilege to meet people and have fun diving.

I am so sorry to hear that you are no longer diving. It would have been great to have you with us.

Though the photographs are all from our dives, I take no credit for the pictures. I have just ordered my camera, hopefully once it comes I can take some pics.

If in any way you like to be associated with the group, you are more than welcome.

James

Hi John,

Don't worry if the photos are yours or ones taken by others who join your dive trips. They are all worth displaying publicly here on the blog and I would urge you to sumbit them regularly. It not only will promote the interest in SCUBA diving in general, but also help make the blog and the Saudi Forum much more interesting and enjoyable.

When I was active in recreational diving in Canada I was involved in a number of different aspects of the sport:

Night diving
Wreck diving
Cave diving
Ice diving
Marine life observation and preservation
Underwater sightseeing
Rescue diving

I had the good fortune to live Vancouver, British Columbia where  SCUBA is a year-round sport activity with winter actually offering much better conditions of visibility and more varieties of marine life. I dove extensively in British Columbia, Washington state, Oregon and Northern California. I also managed to get in a few dives in Hawaii and in Florida as well.

It is a sport that I would highly recommend to anyone. Even if they only take one of the traditional tourist resort courses just to experience diving once in their lifetime, it is something they will never forget.

Cheers,
