New to China...what should I expect?

Post new topic

newtoallthis

I'm in the midst of negotiating and finalizing a job offer that moves me and my family from Singapore to Shenzhen. I have 2 lovely kids (1 and 4 year old), and my husband runs his own business in events management. We've traveled a lot, but we've never been to China. Can anyone tell me what we should be expecting (e.g. culture, schools, community)?

My husband is likely going to be working from our apartment, but the kids will need to go to school. The potential employer has mentioned international schools, but refused to work that into the package to help place the kids. What are the better schools and what are the costs like?

I'm nervous about the potential move!!
