Hello,

Can  a foreigner in kenya seek paid employment with an already obtained class H (business) permit? or would the individual have to apply for a different permit to work?

My wife has a class H permit but is now thinking of looking for employment with an NGO.

thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hi. yes, you will need to apply for a work permit that pertains to the category of job you wish to apply to. each category is dependent on the kind of job you wish to take up. we assist with work permit applications. feel free to get in touch if u need help, affordably. thanks.

from my legal knowledge, you will need a class A permit. this is usually offered to a person who has been offered specific employment by a specific employer who is qualified to undertake that employment, and whose engagement in that employment will be of benefit to Kenya. you will note that this is different from a Class H permit that only allows you engage, whether alone or in partnership, in a specific trade, business or profession in Kenya. i assist with permit application on an agency basis.
