go to your nearest UAE exchange... there the rate is good, and you will get good notes not the counterfeit notes.. they offer less brokerages/charges..

atleast you have the proof of source from where you got the notes. do not change on the roadside or from xyz, road side brokers who normally curse you to change with them. they offer better rate than UAE exchange offers.

Depends on where you are in Chennai?

We usually went to Express Avenue (ground level, same level as big bazaar), it was reputable for us rather than going out into the "streets".
