Hello Friends,
Its great that I found this forum where i can get help make decision to move to Dublin with family.
I am based in BANGALORE (INDIA) and work in an software MNC. I have a 7yr old daughter.
The purpose of this discussion thread is to help me understand better the expenses and my options.

I have been offered a package of 60k Euros which includes 20%bonus which is paid year end. That is 48k per annum.

1.  Would my take home be around 2800?? I did put number 4800 in caluclator below..Are there any other cuts in your take home after this??

2. Where do most of Indian community stay ? My office is in Dublin 24, which are good options to stay. do you get apartments or  houses furnished? I suppose the rents are around 1000 euro? how much extra for internet/electricity etc?

3. for my Daugther's school; I suppose the education is free. What is the session time? she would be joining class 2. anyting I need to particularly know ; hidden costs, do's and don't etc?

4. I may not buy a car immediately so would be dependent on Metro (DART) . Will that suffice if we have to roam around in town to look for apartments etc?

5. basically need help in dos and don't for first 1-2 months before I settle down .

6. My monthly expenses assumptions are Rent -> 1000 , other bills -> 200 , groceries -> 500 ?

7. My wife will be on a dependent VISA; can I apply for a work visa for her from India itself, she may choose to work or not in Dublin...is that possible or you need an employer as must..

My sincere thanks to anyone who responds and it will help me make     informed decisions.
