Are you moving to Vietnam because of job, business, adventure, or pleasure?
Do you getting bore after few years of staying?
Are you willing to stay longer if you have no job?

I moved here because the company I work for in America opened a second facility in Vietnam to better globalize our product. Hence, I relocated here.

I've been here just under 2 years and enjoy it so far. It's much different (in a good way) and I enjoy the culture.

I'm not sure I could live here without my job only because I'm still 35 years away from retiring and would still need a high salary to pay my real estate payments back home.

Thank Jerry, if you can afford it but no job. Do you stay?

Yes, I don't see why not. I enjoy the people, culture, food, weather (winters in the northeast in America can be brutal!) and atmosphere. It's not a perfect country, but no country is. Plus Vietnam is rapidly developing. I'd like to see where it all goes.

Hey Harry,

I've just moved to Vietnam about 9 months ago from Montreal. I decided to move because the job required it. I've met some great friends here and been having a great time.

There's a lot of comforts you have to give up moving from somewhere like Montreal to Ho Chi Minh, i.e. pollution, traffic, heat, etc. That being said if you're able to get a expat-paying job, the lifestyle you live can more than make up for it. Therefore, I as much as I love it here, I don't think I could stay without the job.

One thing is for sure, Vietnam is definitely not a boring place.

I did retire 7 years ago and needed a holiday, met a girl, now married, now I am still here, however, have started some business to not look to lazy, as only walking dogs with 42 is a bit booring
