Hey,

I am from the United States and will be moving to Rovaniemi, Finland next August to attend the University of Lapland for a couple of months. I have never traveled to Finland before and was wondering if I could get some advice/information on clothes I should wear, on the weather, dos and don'ts, etc.?
Any information would be helpful! :)

Thanks
Happy New Year!

Bluemoon, August in Rovaniemi the sun never really sets. Bring along an eye mask if you have difficulty sleeping if it's not pitch-black.

Bring along or buy some insect repellent on the spot, just in case. You've never seen mosquitoes and gnats like that, even though the worst is over by August.

Average lowest temps in Rovaniemi are around 2.9 degrees centigrade in September, so you may not need arctic gear.
