We are hopefully relocating to Malta in August or September this year having spent 16 months in Singapore. I have made lovely friends here and am interested in meeting new people in Malta. Could anyone please advise if there are any groups that I can join. Are there areas in Malta that are more popular with expats than others? Our son will either be going to QSI school or San Andrea depending on availability so we would prefer to live locally to the school. Thank you

ricky

Hi idonald,

welcome to our forum.

Age-wise you fit perfectly into our Expat group. By the time you come to Malta we will be meeting every Wednesday on the rocky beach in Sliema for a picnic.

QSI and San Andrea are near to Mosta but whether you really have to live near the school is questionable. San Andrea is in the middle of no-where even if you live close to Mosta. You would probably have to drive your son to kindergarten/school so you could live anywhere in Malta. Check out the size of Malta - it is 'little' .

Discard any feeling of distance you might have from other countries ....the whole of Malta is a lot smaller than Singapore.

Cheers

Hi Ricky and thank you for your post. I'm glad to hear that I fit in to the age group and there are other people my age in Malta ;)Picnic sounds great too. I had thought that with Malta being smaller than Singapore I could basically live any where and drive my son to school. I think it best that we come and look at accommodation and take it from there. We certainly don't want to be stuck in the middle of no where after staying in the middle of Singapore. How many people usually attend the meetings? Regards and thanks

ricky

We are usually between 10 and 15 ...sometimes more , especially in the summer.

But the pool of people is about 30 ..... with newcomers being always welcome.

I don't really want more than 15 ...... we are like a big family -)))

Look forward to meeting you. Stay in contact and follow the posts.

Cheers
Ricky

Many thanks
