Hi any suggestions for a reasonable BARBER (NOT hair stylist) around town - dist 1 or nearby? Must be affordable, say less than 45K. Thanks

tred1989

Trung Hoa Babershop - 162 Bùi Viện Street, D1.

Many foreign friends of mine have their hair cut here, and me too.

Around 35k for cutting only. Washing, shaving is added if reqired.

I often tip 15k, so It will be 50k total.

Good luck my friend!

Hi tred1989
Many thanks, will check it out as suggested.
Hope prices won't change on account of TET being less than 1 month away!

tred1989

Hope so, but I think It's still too soon to rise the price now.

2 weeks more it probally will.

Just found a guy, in his own shop rather than on the street, that does it for VND30,000.

Unfortunately, it's in the nice part of Q7. (Nguyen Van Linh~Nguyen Thi Tap)

Hi Jaitch.  Don't mind to also know where is this nice place in q7 too.  Thanks

Just wanted to throw this out there... I saw a bunch of men's hair clippers for sale at MaxiMark I think it was district 10.

How much do you usually tip the stylist?

Stylostar

I pay 30 000 for a cut in an air con place in Tan Binh, but people tell me I pay too much! It is cool and the bloke does an OK job. I just ignore the young women in tight, tight gear that work there shampooing etc as irrelevant.

Most at my work pay 20 000 (this was a big topic of convo over coffee), but that isn't going to be in D1 or D7 for a foreigner, but is a base guide.
