I, too, am looking at HR systems.  Right now I'm researching Aviva, a cloud-based system, among others.

Do you need Arabic language and/or Hijri calendar(AH)support?  I'm a U.S.-based company, so English/Gregorian is satisfactory for me.

I'll ask a friend of mine in Riyadh, a Saudi HR Director, if he has any recommendations for you.

Thank you Aurélie.

Thank you for your prompt response GreatLaker :)

Did you guys try sourceforge.net?

aliweb

Try this:
http://www.orangehrm.com/

It is open source and comes with following features.

Administration Module
Personal Information Management
Leave Module
Time Module
ESS Module
Recruitment/ Applicant Tracking Module
Performance Module

One main factor not to be ignored here.

Saudi has a unique HR system implemented which is like nowhere in the world. The bonuses, overtimes, accomo; and above all Govt Hijri system to align with (Iqama expiry, exit re-entry visas etc). Big corporates are using highly customized versions of SAP and Oracle and SMEs are making use of locally (tailor-made) applications. Off-shelf applications, fat chance they'll fit in.

adnanhashmi

Agreed strongly with this, could you please get me one of the best HR system that are being used in your organization and also the contact number of the company who would provide the source code?

@write2smunir and @adnanhashmi

If budget is not an issue that I can recommend you Microsoft Dynamics (Human Resource). We are Microsoft partner (in Saudi Arabia) and can provide customized solution according to your needs.

I tried the sourceforge.net but not as per my requirement. Still looking at orangehrm website, thank you aliweb.

I agree with you TheLegendLeads, but I had prefer a tailor-made local app, having prior experience of SAP I would not prefer SAP or Oracle as their up gradation is very expensive. Can you guide me for a local app in which I have the option for both Arabic & English language also supporting both calendars (Hiri & English).

Microsoft Dynamics on the other hand if they can be customized I would surely be interested in looking into the options, can you provide me with a lead aliweb?

It's easier to get a programmer to build your own application than to customize any other already made app. I'm working on my own project management app with a HRM module.

PM sent.

We are using Dynamics and what always irritates me is: Why do we have to click 60 times for stuff that must have been done in 5/6 clicks. 'The Simplicity preachers' (including me) have come in power and next week we'll kick off CRM module replacement with Zoho (http://www.zoho.com) ;) Anyways, that was about CRM and beside the point.

Coming back to HR Systems, I compared a few bilingual HR/Payroll systems for small/medium organizations a couple of years back and my winner was Al-Ameen.

Here is more info:

The software is created and maintained by a company in Syria but they do have a full-fledged customization and support teams in Riyadh.
