Hi everyone!
I am doing the research and a marketing plan for one of the companies and would like to ask for some help.
Would you please, share what is the typical and authentic greek breakfast? What would the dishes be like?

thanks a lot! That would really help me much!

Barthodk

I dont think the greek really have breakfast. It is more like a coffee and a cigarette.

The Grocer

Hi Nat187,
Bartodks answer at first you might think flippant, but in many ways he is correct!
The work morning in Greece starts early and of course "siesta" is from around 1430hrs-1730hrs. At this time a long leisurely lunch can be taken.  After back to work until around 2130hrs...then its home to change etc. and maybe out for dinner. Even at home dinner tends to be extremely late often going on to midnight or the early hours.  The last meal can be heavy and indeed breakfast hunger tends to be low.......perhaps a bit of toast (as we know it) or biscuit rusks and a Greek coffee.

Hi,

yeap, its true! I am Greek and i must say that i agree with the other two guys here. Greeks don't really have breakfast. Coffee is their only breakfast.

However, some people for breakfast have "tyropita, spanakopita, and koulouri." cheesepie, spinachepie, and some bread.

Come on guys. I could not get through my day without Koulouri and Freddo. I think it's the greek equivalent to a bagel. hehehe

Nat187

Well, mz idea of a Greek breakfast would be dipping moustokouloura (google it to see what they look like) into tea or coffee. Alternatively, a piece of bread or two with honey are nice too :)

Ok !
if koulouri is not enough for breakfast , you can have kokoretsi, kontosouvli, lamp, mousaka, greek souvlaki and at the end of your breakfast a green salad just to be sure that you burn the fat!
ah ! haha!  haha ! haha

Cheers !
:D
