I am searching for job opportunities in Oslo. Currently I live in Mumbai, India and very soon migrating to Norway. So kindly update me the detailed information.

dmcart13

You will find job listings on www.finn.no and www.nav.no

pratik87

Thank you very much for your reply.
Kindly give me the name of job portals which are in english as don't know Norwegian  language and also tell me what are the prospects of pharmacist jobs in Norway.

dmcart13

There are no English language websites, although I think www.nav.no has at least something written in English. You will struggle to find a job if you cannot speak Norwegian. I think it's almost impossible.

pratik87

Thanks for your prompt reply. I will definitely learn Norwegian language soon as possible. What you think other than my pharmacy field which are the other sectors where I can find job easily.

dmcart13

I don't think there are any easily available jobs for people who can't speak Norwegian. Even if you do speak Norwegian, it will still be difficult. Most employers will prefer to employ a Norwegian or other Scandinavian before they will employ a foreigner.

godsavetheking

It's not impossible, but you must have very good English if you're going to find an English speaking job. Anything requiring interaction with the public will most definitely require Norwegian language skills.

dmcart13

That's a good point. There are some places where you will get a job with only speaking English. I only need English in my job. As godsavetheking said, you will need to be proficient in English. It helps to be a native speaker. Usually, you are also required to be highly skilled, or have a skill which is in short supply if you want people to employ you without speaking Norwegian. You should definitely try to learn at least some Norwegian before coming here.

so how is life in Oslo and where are working

dmcart13

I think Oslo is a nice city, even although it's small and very cold, this morning at least. The working conditions are generally very good. The cost of living is very high though, so you should make sure that you are prepared for that if you are going to move here. I work at the University of Oslo, which I enjoy.

Hi, thanks for your replies and interest.
My Name is Manuel. I'm a Spanish nurse with 14 years of experience, 5 of them in England, so as to say that I manage English language ok. How do you see nursing job market?. I heard that there is a shortage of Doctors, specialist more than anything. Do yo know how difficult is to find a job as a nurse?
I'm currently studying Norwegian off the web, while looking for a norwegian language-course, which is proving a hard task in Seville.
Thanks very much,
Manuel

rohitash

who you are asking this question kindly address the name plz

garrapatauk

I understand that there may not be so many people who have knowledge on the current state of nursing in Norway. So the question is addressed to anyone who could shed some light on that issue.
Thanks for your quick reply, and I will try to be more specific from now on.
