It's maybe an unusual request but I'd like to know if anybody knows where to look for making a voyage on a freighter from Bangkok to any European port. Should be doing this in April but hard to find any suitable info. or contacts in Bangkok and what the approx. costs could be. Thanks for anyone who has some feedback in this.

Hi Gary,

Did you get my former msg ?
My name is Philip, from belgium, i'm quite new on the site, I was already in Thailand last december, and will be back within 2 month's.

Hope we can once meet in Bangkok, as I am willing to spend many months/year in Thailand, having travelled a lot, and being also interested in humanitarian projects,  intn' cooperation possibilities, and maybe teaching English and or French abroad. (trilingual Engl., french, ndl)
I was always active as independant manager, and not retired yet.

If you ever again request any actual info concerning freight costs to the port of Antwerp, I can forward you this with pleasure, without any financial interest.

Best regards,
Philip23

Dear Philip,

Since this is a very international site I better reply in English too... I'm afraid I didn't get your first message. I looked in my inbox and usually don't delete "serious" messages so something must've gone wrong back then. Thanks for the advice and contact. yes, Thailand isn't a bad place to live but working is actually another matter. Lots of ups and downs since there aren't many fields we're allowed to work in. And setting up a business isn't really advisable either unless you have a really trustworthy partner in terms of a spouse or girlfriend, or maybe a Thai guy who has lived and studied abroad. Anyway I haven't been to Belgium since 2007 for various reasons, especially financial. Maybe I'm able to go this year around April, not sure though. If you come this way let me know, we maybe can meet indeed if you plan to stay in Bangkok a few days.
Take care and hope the weather isn't too chilly or even cold!!
Bye
Gary A.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for your answer !

I will indeed be back early march ( flight date settled next week) and stay around 1 week in Bangkok, before heading further trough the country and abroad (probably Myanmar and/or Laos).

I will let you know in advance, and be pleased to meet in BKK.
If there's something you would like me to bring to BKK, be free to ask.

The weather conditions here are as usual in wintertime...

Best regards,
Philip

Hi Gary,

My name is Richard. I suggest to do online research for your question. It's the fastest and easiest way to get answers to your questions. This is also what I do when I want to know about anything under the sun.

Gary1957

Okay Richard, will try to do that.
Thanks for the tip.
Gary
