Hi All,

I got an offer from a IT company to work in either Dubai or Abu Dhabi. I am going to join there in the next month. And the salary package is 10000AED per month. Additionally they are taking care of the insurance.

I have to take care of the accommodation, transport and all. I am single and i live a reasonable life not the luxurious one. Let me know if it is enough to survive with this and how much i can save for a month.

Thanks
Jeeva.

Hi Jeeva and welcome to UAE. 10K you can live and save a part of it but it depends on your daily expenses and specialy week end if you are looking for a reasonable life you find it and the most important thing is the transportation try to do your best to save, get your license and buy a car then you'll find out what you can do with 10K
Good luck

Thanks a lot for your reply. Heard that accommodation will cost more. How much it will cost for accommodation for a single room? Also, please let me know which one would be better, Dubai or Abu dabhi? Which is higher in cost of living?

And hope to have a good experience and life in UAE.

Thanks Again.

the cost of accommodation depends on location. the cost of life in AD is cheaper but the accommodation is very expensive comparing to dubai. try to find a room close to your work place to save the transportation expenses and time.
hope it gave you some ideas.

Expect to budget for 4K per month for rent, for some decent place.  Could be cheaper if you go sharing, but you compromise a lot of things.  Both D/AD have varying rentals depending on location, difficult to say which is cheaper.  Is this your only consideration, or do you really have a choice of location?  If you like to have some social life, Dubai is a clear choice.  Insurance is medical you mention, I guess.  This is an obligation on the part of the employer, so don't think they are giving you an 'extra'.  You can survive ok, but don't expect serious savings.
