Moving to Marrakech.... New friends Needed

Post new topic

LondonJess

Hi everyone!
I will be moving to Marrakech on April 9th for 6 months. Looking for english speaking friends preferably female as I am marrying a moroccan man and I dont see that going down too well (even though I work in an all male environment and dont have an issue with it what so ever). Mint tea..... Or wine...... I prefer the wine! But yeah Im very chatty outgoing and sociable.... I also know lots of decent night spots and places to eat on the cheap x
I am coming to celebrate my birthday from feb 27-march 4 also. Would be nice to have some lady friends at the table to talk to then all men shouting in Arabic!! My birthday is March 1st Its also my 1 year anniversary with my fiance Hicham :-) But we welcone anyone who wants to come celebrate with us. We are both very sociable and he speaks english also.
I love to shop in the medina, go to the salon (Mounas in Gueliz is my favourite) just sit drink coffee and people watch and visit the public hammam.
I hope this is the start of a beautiful ad long friendship..... If your just passing by.... Let me be your guide to Marrakech. For an expat I know the city as well as a local.
Jessie x

Look out for the French institution in gueliz it's the best but courses start late also on Mondays cafe du livre (behind Marrakech plaza on rue tariq Ben zaid has a British quiz from 8 :-) if you can't find the road it's walking distance from Marrakech plaza and is inside the courtyard of hotel toulousain a taxi driver should know it when I arrive I will be in touch

Wendywusu

Hi everyone.....I ADORE Morocco.....me and my partner would love to eventually move there in a few years. No idea how to go about renting a property...it would have to be very cheap!

Would love some feedback from  someone that has moved from the UK....as to how easy/hard it is to live over there....would it be easy to find a property to rent...eg how much.how would I go about it....how much average would it cost a Month to live cheaply there.

Thanks in advance.

Christine

Hello

I live in btw London and Morocco , and will be spending quite some time in Marrakech these coming months . I have a little 2 years and a half little boy myself and would love for your baby and mine to meet up as they are almost the same age . There aren't  many activities for toddlers in the city , so I try and take him to a playground on a daily basis . But an outdoor activity is always great when shared with a little friend :)
I am currently here this week so please feel free to contact me
Sm.moona@gmail.com
It will of course also be a pleasure to meet you as well
