Spousal Visa for the Netherlands

Hi there,
My boyfriend is Dutch and I am a 31 year old Australian. We have been together for more than 2 years and are currently residing together in Canada.
I am simply looking nto the possibilities for our future together.
I am aware of the possibilities in Australia with a spousal visa for my partner and this is our intention for the next few years, but I was wondering if someone could inform me of the requirements and further information regarding spousal visas for myself in The Netherlands to see if it could be a possibility to settle there in the future, or to at least visit for a substantial period and be able to gain employment whilst doing so.
I do not need advice on employment opportunities, simply a visa that would allow me to do so.
