Dear All,

My name is Fatma Hussein, I am 25 years old and I currently live in Egypt.

Me and my fiance have been thinking to move to Malaysia when we get married. But we don't know anyone there, and we desperately need your advise on how we can find a job and get residency in Malaysia..

If anyone can help, please reply back..

Thanks a lot

Fatma

Hello Fatma.

Welcome to Expat.com! :)

Do you have specific questions?
What are your qualifications?
In which sector are you looking for work?

Thank you,
Aurélie

Hey Aurelie,

Thanks for your message. Well I have been working in the customer service field for years, but latest job was at At&t as a team leader. I am a graduate of the British Open University, Business Administration.

My fiance has more experience in the customer service and sales, he worked in Australia and in Egypt in both fields.

All what we need now is to know where we can start in order to be able to move to Malaysia. I mean is it easy to find a job there when we arrive, or we must find a job before we go?

Also in regards to the Visa and residency, what do we need to do in order to immigrate to Malayasia?

And do you recommend any recruitment agencies that I can contact?

Ahlan  Fatma!

I dont wanna crush your dreams but read carefully the other topics in the Malaysia/work forum.
The only safe way to get a work permit for a foreigner is to find a job first before moving to Malaysia.
Now, a lot of graduates in Malaysia have no work and there is national preference, it means that Malaysian people are hired 1st for same level experience/diploma.
You can not stay legally6 more than 3 months in Malaysia if you dont have work permit or MM2H or visa for business/investment.

To get a job, you need to be really specialised in petrol or high-techs. Customer service has quite no opportunity except may be if you are very fluent in chinese/korean/bahasa and english of course.
Mimimum salary required to get a work permit is around 5000 RM (1000 egp)

The 1st thing to do is check which companies based in Egypt offer employment in Malaysia.

Work permit is delivered by employer and it costs money, they will not invest if they dont get someone really worthy.

There is others solutions to move to Malaysia like MM2H or creating a business but the minimum cash required is high (above 650 000 egp).

Take a look at this topic and you will understand.

Anyway , I wish you the best and to persevere and succeed.

Salam.
