Hi Ely and welcome to the Forum :)

There are many factors affecting on the time it takes to get a labor clearance visa and it mainly depends on how urgent your Employer wants you to mobilize ... It would be quite difficult to anticipate a time frame for the process.

Hi Bushrcom7, as was said by Schaz, and since you are associated with the industry; then it would be so nice of you if you share some of your info on the Forum, it might answer Eli's question and assist any of the expats out there who are looking for similar information :)

Cheers :)

I really can't tell any thing about it as I dont have any information. Am so sorry.  Visa normally takes a bit time however, if PRO is good, then no issue in getting visa early. Have faith.

Inside I already shared that Petroleum companies have lots of influence of govt therefore, Omanization is also high in E&P companies.

I actually disagree with that. Im associated with PDO (Well Engineering) and did not experience this, specifically in ENGINEERING. That's why I just asked you. Which discipline you're talking about and which sort of HURDLES have been faced, being an expat ?. It's indeed correct that there are specific departments/divisions and disciplines where Omanization is fairly large and the companies are asked to increase the number, however when it comes to Engineering, it hasn't been possible though.

Regards.

I work for PDO as well. This is a regular practice of PDO as well as a lot of companies here in Muscat. They usually provide the express visa and once the employee is on board, they get it transferred to the employment visa. PDO, generally doesn't take much time to issue the xpress visa. To me, its a matter of maximum a week to issue the Xpress one. Anyhow, I have no clue to why you haven't got it yet. All you need to do is contact the HR/Admin and obtain the status accordingly.
