Dear All,

Apologies if plenty has been posted on this, (very grateful if you could advise where to look)

Keeping it brief and basic, I'm early 30s live in UK and would like to explore all options that would allow for a move to Malaysia in terms of employment/ supporting myself

I would not be able to get a company tranfser as I am employed in the public sector/ local authority, Ihave read unless this is the case jobs are seldom offered to foreigners. Can I confirm this or perhaps request alternative suggestions -ie is it hard to start a business? So impressed with Malaysia was I that I am willing to explore/ consider whatever options are available and realistic to sustain a living (within reason!).

Any advice, threads would be most gratefully received!

Many thanks

Ollie

Hi

You have 0% chance of getting a job in public sector/local authority (and that's an optimistic estimation). It's almost impossible for certain Malaysians to get a job in that domain.

Starting a business is possible, it's gonna cost some money though. How much savings do you have that you can use for this business setup and what kind of business are you looking into?

Other than that I think English teacher is the only option left, assuming you're native speaker. However Malaysia does not have a huge market for that as well, not comparable to other asian countries (e.g. China, Thailand, Korea).

May I ask what is it about Malaysia that you are so impressed about?
