Moving to Nepal

I am moving to Kathmandu, Nepal soon with husband and daughter.
We are from Thailand.

Does anyone recommend which areas are convenient for expat to live? Also, out of the two choices, is a house or apartment more practical? Personally, I usually prefer an apartment and am concerned about load shedding.

concerning about the traffic conditions here, it will be wise to live near your work place, i say 30min walking distance is good. but places around Sanepa and lazimpat are sen more to be used by foreigners like yourself.
apartments are good and there are also houses who rent the flat/story of buildings and they might also have power backup options.

Consider investing is a small (2 panel) solar system to give you worry free power even during load shedding.

I recommend looking for a house then you can keep a small garden and a maybe a goat. Consider living outside Ring Road.
