I am trying to set up internet and television in my girlfriends apartment.  Our previous electrician has done some work and won't come back to finish it.  We are trying to work out what is the Internet cable and what is the TV cable.

Does slovenia have fibre optic cables or is this just in some areas?
Is it normal for the internet to come through the phone line or is it a separate cable?

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated, and perhaps if anyone could take a picture of what their phone, internet and TV cable looks like.

Hi,

there are many different options regarding internet connection.

Only few providers (T2, Telekom) are offering a fibre optics network but covered are only main cities and some regions.

Most common connection is trough coaxial cable where plugin in the wall looks same as one for TV set antenna (small rounded alu part with pin inside).

Recently new connections (optics etc ...) were installed in many houses. In such case cables are coming into aparment above entrance doors. In such case you should find small white box above entrance doors and then follow the installation. That should be your internet cable.

Some older versions of internet transfer techology (ADSL) were using phone cables.

Hope that helps,
Andrej
