any thought on the best way to start on spanish lessons, Rosetta Stone, Pimsleur both have fairly low reviews, any other ideas that you have used. thx

I have and am using Rossetta Stone and recommend it highly.  I went from ZERO spanish to having a large vocabulary. This helped and now with immersion I am able to speak perfect Spanglish... Lol. Practice makes perfect.  Check out my adventures relocating to Ecuador at http://atruetalltale.wordpress.com.

I can probably help you out with Rosetta Stone Spanish for a very reasonable price. Send me a private message if your interested.

The Rosetta Stone was a great start but it bores me, maybe I have ADD haha.

We are loving our Pimsleur course! On Amazon you can get their intro course for $10 sometimes free if you search online. Then they sent me another beautifully packaged set of the first 16 CD's for free as a come-on to buy the entire set.

I was told that you can get Rosetta Stone knockoffs in Ecuador for almost nothing. So I'm doing the Pimsleur and may invest in the entire course and then try Rosetta Stone when we get to Ecuador.

My husband is taking a college course which is great on conjugating verbs, etc. but not on speaking the language. They also spend too much time talking about the culture in Mexico. (The teacher grew up in Mexico.) And that's going to help him speak the language in Ecuador?

I'll stick with Pimsleur. I suggest you try the free CD's and see if you like it. I think you will! buena suerte
