First time in Riyadh I have gathered Best home caterers and a Baker under one roof with their more than 50 Food and beverages. We have arranged activities for whole family. However respecting the culture in Riyadh we have maintained the partition in Men and Female section.
Its going to be a very interesting and worth visiting Event for whole family.
Its basically not a commercial event and I have organised it for Ladies of my Facebook Group, however to promote my Club i am still inviting more ladies on different forums who can join my club and visit our Food Mela with their Family.

For more details . plz inbox  :)

how is the family supposed to enjoy with the segregation? a family event means that the family is together - not that the husband will take one kid, wife takes the other kid / or wife (or husband) takes both the kids and doesn't enjoy cause s/he is running after the kids / or they keep in touch over the phone - yes i am doing this activity, what are you up to ...

please tell me how does it work - to have a fun family (separated) enjoyment.

thanks.

Congrats Fidgety Soul for arranging such a nice event and hope all will have a blast there.
Sure I'll drop by :)

I agree...totally detest the segregation. That is the only reason I don't attend such events

Rather we should be grateful to people like Fidgety and whole TRLSC on arranging such nice desi event which is a rare sight in Riyadh. They could confine it to ‘women only’ event but they had been generous enough to allow men as well. They deserve salutations on gathering people of subcontinet at one place.

:) I can't thx enough for understanding it .I wish could have if i had power to face mutawa culture:) In fact i m open for the suggestion if someone take the responsibility

I don't disagree with you, indeed this is a huge positive effort from the organizers, hats off to them. However, there aren't many social or family events happening in this city. Ladies do get together at their tea party's etc. but still there is a huge lack of family events where the families are together.

Now I am not aware of any Saudi law where a personal hall booking or function also requires segregation (I am still kind of new here hence still learning), so if that's the case, we can't really do anything about it. but if that's not the case, then the way i saw it at first was "ohh finally a desi event where we can go together and have fun" but then .. i read the line with the word segregation in it.

now a family like mine with one little kid and one baby can't really enjoy in segregated area so we will probably come for a little while inshAllah but then we will leave may be in half an hour or so.. and i am sure there are many cases like mine - who are looking for good family events like this one, but cant really go because of such reasons.

i hope you understood my point of view. i did not criticize anyone in my first comment - it was just a simple question, and i DO APPRECIATE the efforts of people who make such events happen. At least half of us desi people get a good outlet :)

cheers.

Fidgety Soul
