Bad taxi driver in Male T2720!!!

I have been stay in Male for the past 6 months. And took several times of taxi to get around the island. So far I didn't encounter any unhappy incidents.

Today me and husband took a taxi from jetty to my home ( without any luggage) only 2 of us!
When we get down to our destination, he demand us to pay MVR30 instead of MVR20 ( not that I petty with the extra MVR10. I just feel cheated) we wanted to argue with him but thinking that we will caused inconvenient other road users ( behind us already have few car stop) and we dediced just to pay him.

Just to remind that, just be careful with the some bad drivers around.

It's happened to me too!

Normally,taxi fare is only 20 Rufiyaa per stop, 25 Rufiyaa after midnight and additional charge if you have any luggage.

Hi Guys,

if anyone comes across this situation, which is quite rare but it happens...

1- say that you have live in male for like 1 year and you know the rates.
2- ask for their taxi center number..(3322122, 3325757, 3329292, taxi center numbers are laways like this,)
3- should he refuse to give the number, take a note of the taxi number plate and give a call to 3322111, local police and advise of the incident, it will only take 2 minutes.. and they will follow up on this.

it is very important that we keep rotten rats as such away from service to prevent furtue mishaps to other fellow expats and tourists.
