Meaningful Exchange or just a PITA?

It appears, based on Julien's comment on a thread you and I were participating on, that disagreeing with someone is the line being drawn here.

If that is the case, so much for the exchange of meaningful ideas and discourse.

As far as the PITA line...I think the poster in question has crossed it. IMHO

I won't be participating on any more threads started by that poster.  Waste of time.

I have decided the exact same thing.  And if that poster comments on any topic, in fact, I will not acknowledge it.

As a proponent of free speech, I don't believe in banning.  However, what I have noticed from years on the internet is that this type of person is just looking for attention and if ignored by everybody, will wander off to stir up aggravation elsewhere.

And as for Julien, he's a very nice guy who is just concerned (sometimes overly) that things can get out of hand and ugly things will be said.  His concern might be, in particular, because KSA is such a strict Muslim country and tensions can run high here.  Julien?  Please comment.

That's right Allie. I just want things to go well and I am often over concerned (and I hate moderating discussions)

The thing is that Expat.com is a worldwide community with more than 20K visitors everyday ...  my girlfriend and I are the only moderators at the moment. This is what we definitely need your help to ensure quality and respect on this forum. We try to find animators in every country but it is not very easy.

BTW I've been in a stressful position these last days (one of the reasons is my first "big" TV show interview), and I didn't sleep well for days.

Sorry for being stressed and over concerned. I've been doing my best for 5 years ... and I hope to do it for many more years !

It was for a French channel. I guess I'll have to wait a few decades (and practice my English) to be on Oprah
