Hi Guys,

I need your great help and advice.

About me: I am Malaysia Chinese currently working in Melbourne, Australia.
Marital status: Married and no kid (yet).

I’m going to move to Blagoevgrad (this coming September) because I have a job offer with an annual salary of USD 50K. One of the reasons I chose to work in Blagoevgrad because I am bored with the city life in Melbourne and I want to expose to a new & different environment/culture.

I have a few questions as below:

1)    It is possible to have a comfortable/reasonable life with that income?
2)    The living standard in Blagoevgrad, such as renting a furnished one-bedroom apartment?
3)    Safety in Blagoevgrad?
4)    Friends told me Sofia is dangerous and try to stay away. Please forgive me if this information is not true.

Again, million thanks for the help and time.

Armand

Hello ceong,

I am not from Blagoevgrad, but city around 90 km from there. I have been there many times though. TO answer your questions:

1) Yes, It is possible to have a comfortable/reasonable life with that income?
2) can't tell precisely
3) It is safe city, way better than SOfia

With that income you can afford a lot of things. FOr example the average monthly salary people get here is around 250-300 euro.
