seems he have different approach to humanity.who says he can only talk to purified ones?lets not be judgmental on his first actions.i have high hopes on him,and he seems ethereal.though not from europe, that's what made him unique and special from past popes.

Fred

I think he's probably Catholic.

beppi

I fail to see how an election in a European micro-state, a historic relict with mystic connotations, could be important for the world. But apparently (decreasing) bunch of followers with equally mystic connotations believe otherwise.

James

He apparently has given up the tradition of wearing red shoes.

answer to beppi's post

of course it is important to the world,  the word 'necessity' for believers would fit. its like, a country without efficient leader.a home without father, like a bird without wings.

I think Beppi is saying the Vatican is a tiny dot on the world stage, which is pretty far from being the wings of the world.

hi

Lets wait and see, for now it seems quite good.....:)

To me it is a oldfasion corrupt institute and they like to put scandals under the carpet.
How is it possible that the Vatican is so excessively wealthy while so many people are poor.
This has nothing to do with (any) religion.

Don't people donate a lot to the Catholic church?  Also the Vatican owns a lot of art and has a serious investment portfolio.  It can't be that expensive to pay a bunch of priests who took vows of poverty.

He is still the leader of an organisation that murdered millions during the "Dark Ages".Idolator! Read The Wine of Roman Babylon.

He's getting a good reputation for washing feet & hugging children, but will he ever change anything?

James

He speaks Spanish fluently
