Hey,
My name is Ben Montgomery, I have the same feeling that when I travel to Korea in late March for a year I am gonna be in same position. I am TEFL teaching at a school called Wonderland in Seoul, although I am still trying to find out precisely where. The Korean coordinator with a company called i-to-i doesn't have very good english. So I'm waiting for an email from the guy i am replacing. Anyway, sorry babbling on then, I was wondering how you are finding life in Korea? what do you do? If you are in Korea from March onwards, If you want to meet, I would like to understand where's good to go and what food's good to eat etc/. I cant wait to get out there, but do find it a bit daunting since I havent been outside Europe and its for a year.

Hi Ben.
Besides the part of being here alone, its a great place to be.
I love the city, love working here, im intern for an portuguese state office. This city as absolutely everything, i think you will like a lot.
Its the first time that i have a house on my own, so to live by myself here and love you can see that its a great city.
Here almost no one, besides foreign people, speaks english, you will find quite difficult to talk to localls.
I will stay till begginings of July, so it will be an honor to show you nice places here.
Make shore that you'll get someone to get you in the airport, it's quite far from the city, and can be confusing.
Sofia:)

Hi Sofia
Welcome to Seoul. In the begining it can be a bit intimidating.
Have you been to the local must-see places like Gyongbokkung Palace, the War Memorial or the National Museum? Also its a pleasure to just walk around places like the Gwanghwamun Plaza or Insadong.
There are certain organizations that organize free tours of the Palace, for foreigners in English. Its every Monday and Wednesday.
I've been living here for more than a year and even though my Korean is still very basic, I often venture into the Korean heartland all by myself. Most of the time it turns out to be quite a memorable experience. I write about them in my blog.

Hope by now you've found more friends :)
