I'm Katia, French father, Spanish mother, grew up in France, with all summers spent in Spain ; Haitian husband ; currently living in Hyderabad, South India, after over 3 years in Nigeria, and before that, 7 years in New York, and still before that, two years in London and a lot of back-packing throughout the world. I have two beautiful daughters, I translate trash novels - yeah ! - but my passion is writing for children. I find that there are almost no books adressing the issues faced by Third Culture Kids, children like mine, born in multicultural families and living a global uprooted life, with all the good, but also the heartbreak that come with it. My first picture book is in the process of being illustrated and will be published in the spring 2008 by Tilbury, Publisher, in the US. It is set in Nigeria. Hopefully, more will come. Oh I so understand what you mean!
Not only children literature, but adults too. I have yet to find a book/writer who talks about people like us that move around, who are 21st century nomads and multicultural.
In the meantime, I write them books
