Would appreciate airfare advice Manila (area) to Chieng Mai, Thailand

Post new topic

I'm contemplating moving from Manila to Chieng Mai perhaps sometime in May.  Can anybody recommend the best and cheapest connection and/or airline?

Tonight I saw a RT airfare, RT with a long layover in Bangkok, for around $750.  Is that a good fare nowadays?

Also, it's my understanding that even though I personally plan on staying in Thailand for a while, I still need to have on ongoing ticket...isn't that correct?

hi Art, try tiger airways from manila to bangkok, that's about 250 to 300 USD

then you'll need a domestic flight to chiang mai, which again should be under 100USD.

hope this helps for starters.

Thanks Bro'.  I was thinking I'd heard there was direct flights but...

I also thought that there was an option of some flights leaving from that other airport around here....up at Clark, I think?

In your suggestion, were you talking about a one way fare, or RT?  The information I got when I did my search was, as I said before, around $750 RT but that was with the long layover in BNK.
