Spitting in Mumbai

Post new topic

rosscoomber

Dear All - I will be visiting Mumbai/India soon (as well as other Asian countries) to undertake research on spitting. rosscoomber.wordpress.com/

I want to know about all your experiences in different parts of India. I have a survey (6-7 mins) that asks about this to help me prepare for my visit. It would be great if as many of you as possible could fill it in and also pass on the link?

Kind regards

Ross

Hi,
I just want to share one aspect about spitting.
Location: Prince of Wales Museum/CS vastusangrahalaya.
Resting place for the tourist buses which start from Borivili or vashi and park outside the museum for visit to Gateway or Taj by the visitors to Mumbai(mostly Indians from other states or other parts of Maharashtra.)
Well they spit once a while and are caught by cleanup marshalls. There are no spitoons there and the visitors spit out of habit. The receipted fine is INR 200 and it is then negotiations period.
I have a feeling that nowdays during the vacations, one will find a crosssection of people from various parts of India.
