Post new topic

I've read that an Ecuadorian bank account isn't necessary.  How do most people pay they're rent.  Do most expect payment in cash?  I wouldn't think they would except credit cards.  How do you pay?

In most cases you could pay cash or make cash deposite directly to the leaseholder account in bank.
But it's not very tricky to open your own account here to pay the rest of your bills.
Banco Bolivariano and Banco del Pichincha does open account for non residents.

I will be in Cuenca for two months on a simple 90day stamp on my passport.  Can I open a bank account or do I need a 12IX visa to do this?

why bother? Use you're debit card for 60 days
