Do not travel to any of the northern states or cities if you are a westerner, or dress like a westerner.

Boko Haram have declared open season on westerners and you will present an easy target to these idiots.

Stay well clear.

It is alright to travel to these cities. Use local transport such as buses. Insyallah, Allah will protect you. Wassalam.

Foreigners are not safe travelling on public transport. Anyone who does is taking a huge risk.
Embassies issue travel warnings and these should be taken seriously.
If you don't then you are an idiot.

I lived here. For past two and half years and travelled on public transport all over without an escort and been fine. I guess it depends on your confidence and mind set. My colleague does the same driving himself all over and no problems.

However I would not venture past Jos. East is ok. I spent time in Port Harcourt and. East ok just be vigilant in port Harcourt same with lagos. I live in abuja now and that is fine also.
