Hello Guys/Gals,

I am considering Backpacking to Kenya/Tanzania/Uganda in August on my own.
I have already done a big road trip (Thailand-Cambodia-Vietnam), so have basic awareness.

If travelling on muddy roads by bus, going on safari (big 5 animals!), watching Gorillas, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, soaking on the beautiful Zanzibar Island, etc. etc. sounds good to you, let me know. We can talk more about this and see if we can do the trip together. More people = merrier!

I am quite flexible and open to ideas as i have just started thinking about this and nothings' concrete. I have done TONS of research and I feel 2 weeks will be enough for this one. of course we can tweak all the plan to suit our needs.

hit me up on sushil86 [at] gmail.com!!

PS: If you have been to these places, inputs will be highly appreciated :)

Hi sgdtobhd,

Not sure I would do it myself but I find that fantastic !
One of my friend just left his job to travel the world alone with his motorbike ô_Ô...
That must be an incredible experience for sure...
Wish you a fantastic trip !

Cheers

Olivier

Thanks Olivier,

I can't imagine doing that motorbike thing, hope he is having a safe journey!

Cheers!

Hi All,

Unfortunately I did not get good response from this forum. Since I have more clarity on the trip now, here is an update, hopefully some sleepy souls get interested!!

I have booked my tickets with Air Arabia (8th August-23rd August). Quite cheap actually (BD 180 return from Nairobi).

I have removed Uganda from the itinerary. Don't want to be on a tight schedule! Total expenses would come to around BD 800 (excluding flights)

Cheers!

Congratulations... I am not a natural activity person as being born and bred in cities I quite enjoy the city life. That's why I did not comment on the topic. All the best with the trip and share the photos with us on this topic once your trip is completed :)

Thanks mate, I'm really excited about this trip.

I was too like you until a few years back, just travelling to modern civilized places, but then I met a lady and things changed.

Will love to share my pics, until I resemble a monkey or a Baboon in it!

Yallah,
Regards,

Sushil

Have a great trip bro. Sounds exciting. But I am too timid to venture out like this :)

sgdtobhd

@ Farhaz

I can bet I'm more timid than you mate and I'll shit in my pants at a lion's roar.

...but the excitement overtakes my fear.

Farhaz

Enjoy it bro. If ever u decide to do a backpacking tour of Maldives, pls let me know. I plan to move there after Ramadan and will be happy to assist and show you around. :)

Did you make it there? how was it? That trip is something that you can't get from the interenet. Me myself would love to get close of the wildlife, view their habitat and even camp out in the bush. To sit by the campfire, watching traditional dances and going to bed under the moonlight is an experience of a lifetime.... hope I can experience that in the future!
